  4. No, you can disable call waiting by dialing *70 before dialing out.

I used to do it when I lived at home.

  5. If this a dialup script on your PC – you would type *67, in front of your phone number in the script – use the COMMA, it is a pause to allow the *67 to take and then provide the dial tone for the dialup number.

Check with the phone company in your area, because I thought it was *70 to disable call waiting?? And *67 was to block your outgoing ID

  6. To cancel call waiting you dial *70. *67 is to block your phone number so the person you are calling can not see who you are on caller id. Phone companies offer this service on all calls for a fee but they had to offer it free so if you want to block your identity you must dial *67 every time before you make a call.

  7. if you can and weather it is *67 for you depends on your phone service provider. If you do not want to have call waiting, why not have your provider discontinue your subscription for it. You may get it free in a package but even that does not mean that your provider cannot disable it permanently for you. If you only want to disable it at certain times why bother. Just don’t answer the incoming calls and as soon as they hang up the beeping will be gone. I never have accepted call waiting on my phone because I feel that the one I am talking too came first and who ever else wants to talk to me can call again. If three people were in the same room with each other and two of them were having a conversation, would you not consider it rude if the third one wanted to jump in, change the subject completely and become exclusively listened to in the middle of the other conversation? Well I consider call waiting to be exactly that…a rude interruption.
