I have 2 computers, that share a dialup connection. 1 will connect at, 42kbps. The other, connects, at 28kbps. Why is this? Both have the same dialup modem.

thats impossable the dialup speed is 54kbps
if so one computer was on the line first or/and is using more of the speed

if you have both on at the same time it is possible that they are share the modems speed witch is 56Kb/s
try connect one at a time and see if that makes a difference
