    Logically what you said does not make too much sense. Surely Win98SE has older IE. This has nothing to do with the fact that it will only connect to Internet with Dial-up. If you have setup Windows 98SE to use Dial-up only, then it will try to use that as your primary connection all the time.

    If there is a (NIC) Network Adapter in this Computer then that will be the better option for you to use to get to the Internet, using your DSL Connection.

    If you have a built in Network Adapter in your Win 98SE computer then also you simply need to install the Network Adapter drivers and connect the Network Cable from your DSL Modem to your computer. Of Course you will need the DSL Software to be installed in this computer as well.

    You can even connect the USB Cable from you DSL Modem to the USB Port of your computer to get on to the Internet.
