Check your connection setting in YM preferences., make sure it’s set to dial up. and you may want to change the connect settings to wait untill connected to log in.

your computer probably have a virus or u just can’t go on ym while u got dail up

well check ur YM’s preference setting to “no proxies” and internet connection to “Dial up ”
hope this will resolve ur problem
if that not works too
download new copy of yahoo messenger
and when downloading ym set screen resolution to 800 x 600
