  3. When you plug in the phoneline to your pc and go online, you are just making a different kind of phone call. It’s sort of like what a fax machine does. Technically, your phone is not disconnected, it is busy.

    For a long time we dealt with this by having two phone lines coming into our house, but now you can often get DSL or Cable internet cheaper than a second phone line. (and it’s much faster!)
