I want to connect 2 laptops up to my dialup connection.?

I have a wireless router, do I connect the dialup cord in the router?
Or do i need to change settings in network connections.

  1. Go back to the source where you bought the router and ask them.

  2. Not for a dialup connection.
Your best bet is to configure your internet connection on one laptop then share that connection with the other laptop using “Internet Connection Sharing” or similar depending on your OS.

Due to the fact these are both laptops, this may be a little inconvenient, if possible try and find a cheap second hand PC, it only needs Win 98SE at a minimum and install software like “Jana Server” I’m certain this is freeware/shareware:

This acts as a proxy/mail server among other things and works exceptionally well with dialup and broadband connections. This way your connection is available regardless of whether or not the laptop with the internet connection is available. I have used this on a network running Win98SE and supporting 25 users with nothing but a dialup connection!
