I wouldn’t say that the number of hours spent online would determine an obsession, because many people use the Internet in their jobs, like me in doing research and skip tracing. But I also love to come home and talk to friends and play games.
I think it becomes defined as an “obsession” when it’s getting in the way of your everyday activities, such as when you just can’t pull yourself away from the computer to do dishes, go to the store, spend time with your family, etc.
