Completely awful. Way to much additional crap is installed on your machine. I would avoid aol like the plague.

AOL is horrible , they charge so much for service you can get for so much cheaper. For the price of there dial-up service you can get high-speed DSL. And the day you want to cancel, I wish you luck , because it is nothing but a living hell with them!

I would suggest MSN. I had AOL for years. Not only do they continue to increase the price every time you turn around, but they block certain parts of the web from you. AND when you try to quit they will continue to bill you (charge your credit card) for months or in my case over a year before they finally stop. If you ever decide to go to college and study online you will not be able to do it with AOL. Another thing is that AOL is constantly shutting off where I very rarely lost the connection with MSN. Oh and MSN also has more local phone numbers to choose from when connecting and your odds of getting online are better. Earthlink is OK too. I’m getting my DSL for $17.99 a month for the first year, but there is one for $12.99 a month too. MSN is $21.95/mo

There’s nothing wrong with AOL. Some of their software conflicts with certain websites but there are fixes for that.
Even if you don’t download, the few extra bucks you would spend on DSL or Cable are worth it.

I use AOL Broadband Silver and it’s fine. You get a lot of additional rubbish you will never use but at least it’s reliable. There are cheaper ones, but they aren’t so reliable. I hear Tiscali is REALLY bad! And Tiscali charges extra for blocking spam.
