There are mainly 2 types of MP3 player. Solid state & harddisk type.
Solid state type are cheaper & easy to use as it works juz like a thumb drive. All u need to do is to copy the music files u want & paste to the drive that appears as ur MP3 player. It can also charge your mp3 player at the same time. It is relatively cheaper depends on how cool u want it to look. Sony has come out with flash walkman. It looks cool but u need to install their software in order to transfer the files.

As for the hardisk type Ipod is another popular one. depending on your budget.
U can get lotsa cheap MP3 player at SIM LIM SQUARE too
As for downloading from Napster using dial up… u can forget about it. It will take years & make u frustrated. Ask from your friends who has the songs & burn them for u in MP3 format & that will be easier. Copy to your PC 1st then to the player is the prefered choice.
There is a software call CD-MP3 ripper. small program & easy to use to u can find it in the net. If u using Window Media Player 10 I think they have such feature as well. (I dun have it though)

Downloading songs on dialup will be slow around 25mins pers song. With the download from napster download it to your pc in mp3 format and copy and paste the songs under my computer the mp3 player will appear as a removable device or drive. The chinese Mp3 players at http://www.mp4direct.org come with the software for converting cd’s and video’s and work well I’m using one.
