Norton Internet Security 2003 problem after liveupdate.?

after running liveupdate, NIS and NAV icon dont load on taskbar after startup…i need to dialup internet access then only it appears, why?

before liveupdate, everytime i dialup internet the globe icon on the right of screen will show its protecting the IP and NIC, but now its only IP nomore NIC, why?

is this normal? im not getting that many intrusion detection alerts after liveupdating though…im afraid its not working properly.
btw ccapp is causing awful lot of runtime errors…ive checked with norton and they said its “normal” and leave it ALONE! *sigh*

    you need to reconfigure it
    or do what a lot off my friends do
    remove it and install avast antivirus
    this is free and can be downloaded from avast .com free to use
