The Sound of dial-up Internet

I was board so I wanted to see if I could get free dial up internet so I found that NetZero still has free service so I put in the number and heard the glorious sound of the Dial-up. Remind me of years gone. Unfortunately I was not able to make a connection.

  6. It made those sounds when it was connecting. It did run through the phone lines. If you were to pick up the phone while you were connected to dial-up, you would hear something like that.

  13. I actually miss this sound, even though the internet at the time sucked. It’s really amazing to see how far it’s come in the last 10 years even.

I remember waiting as long as an hour to connect to AOL dialup and getting tons of those aol cd’s in the mail.

I remember actually connecting and then getting disconnected after trying to view anything.

It took me awhile to download even the smallest files, and now it’s almost instant.

    Simply Amazing.

The sound is the Analogue representation of the Digital communication between Modem (DE-MODulatation-Analogue/Digital/Analogue) of the signal.

Or something like that. No expert.
