I had a free Yahoo mail account before I subscribed to SBC/ATT Express DSL. I elected to combine my mail to make Yahoo mail my primary mail account. Now that I switched to a dialup ISP, I want to know if Yahoo retains my mail box, or ATT? I have around 20 megs of mail. If ATT keeps my mail, how can I copy it back to Yahoo?
After canceling your DSL service, you will receive complimentary Dial-up service from AT&T Yahoo! for 90 days, which includes full access to your SBC Yahoo! account. If you attempt to log in to the SBC Yahoo! homepage (sbc.yahoo.com) using your Yahoo! ID and password after 90 days, you will be given the option to unmerge your Yahoo! ID. If after 91 days you have not unmerged your Yahoo! ID, it will automatically be unmerged.
Once your SBC Yahoo! ID has been suspended / terminated, mail will no longer be forwarded from the sbcglobal.net address to the Yahoo! ID. Thus, you get to use your Yahoo! ID like you did before you had it combined with your AT&T Yahoo! ID.Problem solved.
In short, wait for 91 days fron the start of your service disconnection with ATT. =)
I’m a tech support rep for ATT Yahoo! =)
