Firefox is cleaner and more efficient than IE. IE is what we call bloatware. It’s gotten so fat because of the “features” added to it and the safety things added because so many virus writers write for IE.
Keep your eye on Firefox… It’s gonna get bloated someday and then there will be something out to replace that.

Firefox actully opens multiple sessions with the same website and request information from it multiple times. So web sites are sending more information back to firefox over a shorter period of time.

well the thing about firefox is that most of its features are optinal (through extensions) so firefox is a million times more customizable that ie, and doesn’t exactly need all the features at the same time, so firefox actually has a way to stay leaner longer…

In my experience Firefox has actually been a little slower than IE. It doesn’t seem to do any better against spyware either. I use it mainly because I like tabbed browsing.
