Why is my dialup connections grayed out on my computer?

I have had dsl previously on my computer. I have deleted everything pertaining to dsl. Now I would like to use a dial up connection, but it is grayed out. What should I do?

  2. This usually means the computer is not detecting a modem card. Make sure there is one installed and if it is, make sure that it is enabled. You might have to re-install the drivers for the modem.

  3. Go to Start/Run. type in regedit

    Browse to the following folder:
    HKEY_Local_Machine/System/ CurrentControlSet/Services/ Rasman/PPP/EAP/ Then delete the folders 25 and 26, LEAVING 4 and 13 intact.

    Restart the computer.

  4. well its gray because its not connected or not enabled, double click on the icon should help
