I am considering this alternative..I will buy phone service for $23.00 per month.Then I will buy internet service Dial up at $5.00 per month.
By using this method I will be getting not only internet but also phone all for $28.00 per month.$2.00 cheaper than the cheapest Digital internet service.
My question is:Is this good thinking that will pay off.And what are the cons as I already know the pros?Am I making a good choice?

I’m looking for a good cheap alternative to a laptop for my mom – she would only use it for web surfing/email and her provider is Juno dialup (yeah, I know…) Seems ridiculous to pay $500 for the low-end dell when even that has way more power than she needs. Such a device must have a large (>12″) screen and must have dialup capability. Would prefer not to buy anything used.
