Best Internet Service for Rural Residents?

I live in a rural area and we’ve (my parents house) always had dial-up. We have direct tv for years and I saw that some satellites company have internet services. I would like to have speeds as close as 3.0. I heard there’s also a cell phone that allows you to access the web using your laptop. I would like something that allows everyone to get online whether it’s by laptop or desktop computer. CLOSE TO 3.0 speeds!
my whole family is with Verizon wireless (originally w/ Alltel)

local area network connections?

I have a DSL internet service at home and I need to network our 2 other computers from different rooms which is 10 meters away. I dont have a LAN card either so can I use an 8 port ethernet SWITCH instead of a ROUTER since it’s more cheaper? Also what would be the difference in their performance if theres any? In addition, what would be the recommended wire placement, the crossover or the standard type?

cheap high speed internet price?

if I’m trying to get a cheap internet price, what is the best? I’ve heard yahoo dsl and verizon dsl are cheap, but doesnt that involve buying a phone line as well? and if i just moved to a small town, how do i know that these dsl offers will work for my area if i dont have a phone line yet to check, i dont want to buy a phone line then realize internet doesnt work in my area anyways. other internet like comcast or local companies are about 20 something a month, but 50 just for intallation and i’m only going to be here for 4 months so it doesnt seem worth it..any advice

I need to know if there is service for high-speed Internet, telephone, and television (4 connections)?

We are moving from a Brighthouse available area to an area that does not have cable available. We will most likely have DirectTV and Verizon for the phone and internet. I want to know if there is something better to work with in the area I live: 38111 Springdale Road, Zephyrhills, FL 33540, 813-862-3345. I also have a lap-top and it is hooked to my network by wireless router. Do I lose all the connections I have so far and do I have to put a lot of money into my computers in order to go back to dial-up from cable? I was told that eventually Brighthouse would be going into that area but that was some 6 months ago.

My other computer says network cable unplugged in the LAC section, and I am using a wireless router…?

When I put in the WIndows XP CD in and installed everything, I went to set-up my local area connection, but in the bottom-right corner of the screen, it says “Network Cable Unplugged”. Isn’t that for dial-up connections? I am trying to connect to my netowrk using my other computer which has a wireless router, and this router is working because my thrid computer just connected to this. My router can handle up to 4 servers connecting to it, but my computer always says “Network Cable Unplugged” HELP! I need this computer working before school starts!
