Important Reminder for 705 Area Code Information Regarding Ten Digit Dialing On January 15th 2011, Ontario’s 705 area code region will be going to the 10 digit dialing standard. This is the final region within Ontario that is to be changed over to the 10 digit dialing system. The benefits of going to this system include allowing the new area code 249 to be added to the current 705 region, this will allow for an increase in available phone numbers. All residential and business customers from this region will need to reprogram their telephones, cell phones, alarm equipment, fax machines and Dial-up Internet connections. This can be done by adding the area codes to the beginning of programmed numbers and ensuring that all calling functions, databases, etc. are compliant with 10-digit local dialing. Between now and January 15, 2011, it is advised that both residential and business customers reprogram telephone and communications equipment to comply with 10-digit local dialing. Highly debated, but proof! It has been done. I’ve only tested this with my iMac G3, so i’d assume IBM’s, Compact Macs, Dreamcasts, and what have you, should work. Free dial up was from www.dialupforfree.com They give you a local access number and account, just provide e-mail and zip. I’ve never used their dialer, just the access number and login info on my mac’s built-in dialer, that should do fine. (Nope, I’m not getting paid for that haha). Want a tutorial? In depth review of one of my computers? (Since I actually talk now). My videos have all of my computers except my DGi Laptop and iMac g3. Message me, leave a comment, whatever you want!
