Hello, I need to change my ISP provider from Comcast to someone new. I need to have a bundled service for a landline home phone and the internet. Money is tight right now but I need a good ISP service. Fast dial-up, or broadband, and excellent customer tech support. They need to also be flexible with billing ex: (if you are a little late with your bill they will not automatically shut you off.) A little grace period. Also any websites that do comparisons. Second question can I keep my old email address, that I use to look for jobs, subscriptions, I am all over the place. Any suggestions appreciated. Anyone want to share their experiences with their current provider good, bad, ugly. Thanks
I have comcast internet service right now. It really is starting to suck. I don’t know if it is my computer or the internet but I swear it moves like a computer. I got high speed for exactly that HIGH SPEED! I feel like I might as well go get dial up.
Is qwest high speed just as good? I know it is cheaper so I was thinking of switching over so that I can save on money too. I figure can’t get worse than this. Anyone have the experience with both let me know????!!!
woops I meant to say…..It moves like a turtle!
if I’m trying to get a cheap internet price, what is the best? I’ve heard yahoo dsl and verizon dsl are cheap, but doesnt that involve buying a phone line as well? and if i just moved to a small town, how do i know that these dsl offers will work for my area if i dont have a phone line yet to check, i dont want to buy a phone line then realize internet doesnt work in my area anyways. other internet like comcast or local companies are about 20 something a month, but 50 just for intallation and i’m only going to be here for 4 months so it doesnt seem worth it..any advice
While technology relentlessly marches forward, it’s important to remember that there are families across the United States who remain without internet service, or even a computer of any kind. As cable and fiber-optic technologies become more widespread, low-income families are left with few choices when it comes to getting online. Comcast hopes to change that by offering internet service for just per month — as well as a discounted netbook computer — to families that qualify. The program is called Internet Essentials, and will be available in all Comcast service areas starting with the upcoming school year. About the program In order to qualify for the Internet Essentials program, a family must reside within a Comcast service area, have a clean billing record with Comcast, have no current internet service, and have at least one child who receives free lunch through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Comcast is using the NSLP requirement to ensure that only low-income families are able to take advantage of the Internet Essentials option. The service provided by Internet Essentials includes connection rates of up to 1.5 Mbps download and 384k upload. Those speeds won’t break any kind of record, and wouldn’t be very useful for things like streaming movies or online gaming, but they should be more than enough for homework and other online school activities. Other options Families outside of Comcast service areas still have options for cheap internet access. Dial-up …
