slow dialup internet connection?
I have dialup internet at home. It starts off fine, but then after 5 minutes, it slows right down until it eventually freezes up. What is strange is that if I download something in the background (spybot or AVG updates), the interent connection will work fine until the download is completed. Then it will slow down until it freezes. The longest I can surf the internet at one time is about 10 minutes. I have Windows XP with a newer modem. I have tried both IE and FireFox and it happens on both. Any Suggestions???

When it slows down until it freezes, I cannot close out of anything. Everything on the PC is locked up. I have to hold in the power button to re-start the computer.

When We connect to a dialup internet connection (33.6 or 56kbps)why we cant have full download speed ?
atleast we can have 10 or 15 kbps speed .thats just half???
when i download some thing the download speed is 4 or 5kbps.
the computer shows that it is connected as 52 kbps but downloads at speed of 4 or 5 .please tell
hi, everyone. i have a dialup internet connection that in the early morning hours i’m having trouble getting a
stable strong connection to view pages or work interactively. later in the day after say 8:00am i can usually achieve a good connection but i have to stick with that connection because i don’t know if i’ll be able to work on line later. my question is this: does anyone know what the heck?

Why doesn’t my myspace tell me when my friends are online?
I have a dialup internet connection and myspace never has the little “online now!” thing underneath people’s pictures. but when i go to my friends house and use her high-speed computer, it does show up. is there anything i can do to fix this at home?
