HOL “I don’t like broadband” commercial (English subs)

This is a funny commercial that the Greek ISP named HOL (Hellas On Line) produced to convince dial-up users to move on to the next level of the Internet experience: broadband. It is true that there are still users in Greece that either don’t know what broadband is or they think that it is more cheap to connect this way and that their needs are met with a dial-up connection.

do i need an active phone number to us a dial up isp.?

i dont have a home phone provider, its beens stopped.can i still use a dial up isp over the exsisting phone line?
my phone was shut off, i had it urned off, was waste of money.my question refers to the actual phone line in my house that runs to pole, i doubt it was severed…so it seems like a differnt company could use it or does it belong to phone company?

how reliable are wireless internet services? Does it drop as much as cell phone calls?

I signed up for a wireless internet service and it drops every 5 minutes or so and stays down at least a minute. I dont think this is normal. The ISP is no help at all. They dont seem too concerned about it.

what type of internet should i go with?

i am looking to subscribe with a new internet company. right now i have dial up internet and it is supplied by my company. i want a new internet service but i dont want to pay a fortune. i was looking at the netzero high speed internet because it was the cheapest i could find. should i go with netzero or should i just pay the load of money for broadband?

so much $$ just to get online???

so my husband and I are looking into getting i’net service at home. problem- we dont currently have phone service so i dont think dsl or dial up would work unless with get that. second problem- its impossible to find just basic phone service that’s cheaper than say, high speed internet. all we need is to get online, speed isn’t really factor. is there either cheaper high speed or a cheap basic phone service provider? it’s getting too complicated in my opinion
