Computer problems!!! HELP!!?

Yesturday morning, out of nowhere, my computer starting acting strange. First, when it booted up it said that it was having difficulties finding the server. Then once it started working it was slower than dial up (I have DSL). I then deleted all my cookies, emptied my recycling bin, defragmented, deleted programs and games I don’t use, ran ad-aware, spybot, antivir, CCleaner, and AVG in hopes that one of those things would fix the problem…. but it still is slow! I have no idea why it would keep doing this. When I go to Windows task manager, as soon as I open it up it spikes to 100% CPU usage, and suddenly drops to 15 and goes up to maybe 60 at most again. What could be going on? Could it be a nasty trojan or something? Could it just be the internet provider? Anyone have any ideas?

Need help with connections to World of Warcraft (WoW)?

I’ve played World of Warcraft for the past few years and since the dramatic increase to 8 mil people i’ve had horrid trouble with lag and such due to my connect (dial up). We’re trying and trying but no phone company says we’re close enough to get DSL or anything faster. A few years ago when there were only maybe a million or two million people it was fine and dial up wasn’t even a bad connection, but now even a private server’s too full for me to play on dial up. Anyway, when i tried playing on regular WoW it wont even allow me to login to my account because there’s so many people, is there any way i can fix that? And is there any internet providers that you can suggest us with that can probably provide internet further out than most?

My computer doesnt have the two phone jacks in the back for dial up internet services?

I just signed up for dial up internet services thru bellsouth and when I went to plug the phone line into the back of the computer I realized there is no jack small enough for the phone line to fit. There is a slightly larger jack (which I’m told is for DSL services), but I’m not interested in paying the DSL rates! Is there an adaptor of some sort I can purchase to get dial up services on my computer?

Be nice…if you can’t tell I dont know much of anything about computers!!

What is this Internet service?????

I recently bought a IBM laptop from eBay and it comes with a 802.11g Wireless LAN PC card. When I switch the laptop on, it suddenly connect me to the internet and I was browsing. BUT….I am not a subscriber of any internet service DSL or dial-up….AND I was not around or close to any internet wireless router when I use the laptop…I was in the middle of a parking lot. How was I able to access the net? It happened everytime I switch on the laptop even when I am in my office where there is no wireless service. Can someone enlighten me on this???
By the way, I am in Dover, NH.

How can i get an internet package where i can use my phone and the internet at the same time?

I have my internet service and phone service with bellsouth, which runs me about 73.00 a month. But i have dial up which is very slow and tried to change to dsl and was told by bellsouth the service is not available in my area yet!! This is very frustrating to me, i pay that much for phone and internet and can’t even have dsl. Anybody know another service with faster internet that may be cheaper??
