Features faster-than-wireless speeds and easy connectivity. The Plugable USB 2.0 to 10/100 Network Adapter adds a Fast Ethernet (RJ45) capable port to any supported system. It uses the ASIX AX88772 chipset for widest possible compatibility. Note the adapter is not for network enabling USB devices, rather it’s the other way around – it’s a USB device that adds a fast wired network interface to supported computers, consoles, and mobile devices running network-capable operating systems. The unit features a compact external design. Two LEDs montior power and link activity. Powered by USB (no external power adapter needed).

Compatibility

Drivers built in to Mac OS Lion 10.7+, Nintendo Wii, Linux 2.6.12+, ChromeOS/ChomeBook, Chumby, and some specific Android 3.2+ systems like the Toshiba Thrive. Windows 7, Vista 32/64-bit drivers automatically provided via Windows Update. Windows XP, 2000, ME, and 98SE drivers via download or disk. Mac OS X 10.4 – 10.6 drivers via download. Open source driver in Linux kernels 2.6.12+.

Performance

Wired ethernet via this adapter provides faster and more reliable network access than typical 802.11 wireless networking (up to 2-3x as fast). Particularly helpful for web video, downloads, and streaming.

Windows XP Internet help?

Hey, I am running Windows XP Professional on boot camp on my 2010 Macbook. I am having trouble with the internet thou. I have the latest service pack (3). No wifi icon shows up when I look for it and I have searched for it for a long time. When I look in my network places only dial-up and private-virtual web show up. I tried to plug in an ethernet cord but nothing shows up when I plug it in and I still do not have internet access. It isn’t the ethernet cord because i have tested it on another computer.

Any help? Im thinking of bringing it in to Best Buy/Fry’s but don’t want to drop the cash if I don’t need too.
I don’t know how to install or add more things because I can not connect to the internet.
