I presently have dial up internet connection. I just want to upgrade to a faster service. Do I have to pay more for super fast connection from my cable company or the slower DSL service offered by my phone company, which is cheaper per month. Thank you for your reply.

I live out in the boondocks and unfortunately cable and DSL internet aren’t available. I have heard about Satellite Internet but have been told it can be very expensive. I’m on somewhat of a tight budget and am looking to switch from my slow dialup which runs at a speed of 28.8 kbps to a faster service so I can enjoy all the net has to offer better.
Is there a good cost effective high speed internet service provider out there or something that you think would work for me?

i get yahoo over dialup and through school highspeed and use mostly all services. a friend is on dsl and is using yahoo as home page. im also setting up a home network to allow us more opportunity to use more then one computer at a time. yesterday i saw the yahoo highspeed for 25.00 link on top of yahoo home page and now im confused i want faster service and want to expand network but how does yahoo fit the bill, while i get better use of my money. sick of aol and ever climbing bills.
i use yahoo as my webmail address but have to use isp to get on web, while isp is fair i feel i could do better with yahoo all the time. local cable is merging with newer company they are advertising cablenet for xx.xx/month. so im interested but didnt know how yahoo fits in.
