can a musllim terorist from iraq hack it? im afraid theyll attack us somehow and from now on i leave my computer and modem unplugged and only use it in 5 minute intervals will this help?????????

YIM Connection settings before connecting?
Ok, how do i go about changing the connection settings on YIM before i actually make the connection. Its defaulted to Dial-up, need it on Lan/Broadband, but is greyed out. Ive tried to go into the registry, but im unable to find any setting that can influence whats already there. This is a problem and YIM designer need to leave this field active, who has dialup nowadays anyways? (no offense to those who do).
Found the problem , it was a port setting in the registry .. The default setting set to connect via the modem but im on a LAN. So in ports just changed it to 23 (telnet) and connected fine.

Is there a reason why DSL isn’t available in area? I’m stuck here in dialup hell, someone please get me out?
I have been searching in vain for DSL service for many months. Ive tried services such as Verizon and Earthlink, yet for some ungodly reason it isnt available in my area. My current internet provider is AOL and even they can’t offer me anythingold dial-up. I have no idea why its like this. I’m hurting here, to download a five minute song it takes between 20-30 minutes. I live in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, its not like I’;m in boonies or anything. Its looks as if cable internet and dial-up is the only two options. I’m in need of divine intervention…..
How difficult is it to get comcast cable internet. from what i heard its better than DSL, but wont i have to deal with installing it and paying like $40+/month?

In the IM preference tab under connections, my default country settings wont stick to USA?
It keeps defaulting to other countries and it wont let me save it to USA, and I live in Calif. what can be the problem? Ive emailed yahoo help months before and they say it was my ISP, but my ISP says my IP addresses are all in California. This affects how my launchcast music plays, makes it play like I have dialup and I dont, the song buffer for about 1-2 minutes before each one plays, and I have the highspeed cable ISP…. help!!
for that first reply, Im not computer illiterate! Dont assume all users never touched a computer before. I’ve tried all those settings that several times. it doesnt stick.
