I have tried three different times on different days to download Yahoo IM, and I get a box saying that the dl has been inturupted. Then gives the option to abort, or retry. Usually happens by 4-7% of the install. Hitting retry just makes the load bar read 100% and then sits there for a few and gives the same message box of interupt. So, then I abort the install, which leaves me sad. Is it because of slow dialup, and if so, is there a way to acomplish what I am trying to do?….Anyone????
I’ve been forced with dialup for 5 years. There is no DSL or cable ISP’s where I live, so I’ve been with my local ISP for years and now NetZero, both horrible. I got a flier from Hughes Net a few months ago, but I didn’t go with it because supposedly Verizon was coming here. No such luck and it’s not coming soon, so I’m reconsidering Hughes Net, or any satellite provider, assuming they’re good.
So as I ask, is Hughes Net good for internet, for DSL speeds? I really just want to download things in seconds/minutes rather than hours, watch videos, and upload work in peace. I’ve heard mixed things about this ISP, but at this point, I really need fast internet and am willing to pay for Hughes if gets me a good, reliable connection.
Any input would be appreciated.

I had 7.5 Messenger, worked fine. Tried to upgrade to newer version. no luck, it wont let me change the connection settings cuz i cant sign in at all,,Im using a Broadband but it keeps comin up as a dialup when u go to prefrences. and YES ive removed and reinstalled this program like 20 times by now…WTF!!!
I don’t know the name but it copies my ISP dialup and will autodial and send my to a teen porn site. I’ve run software to try to get rid of it with no luck. I think I found the file but cannot access or delete same. I’m not one with deep pockets so any help will be appreciated.
