How can i control de number of times a Windows 2003 server rings, before it answers a dialup call???
Recently, my dialup ISP called to inform me that I was using an “unauthorized number”. Well, granted, I was (they recently upgraded their numbers), however I was offended losing my privacy like this. If they can tell that, what else can they monitor?
So, anyway, I’m looking for the best dial-up ISP that is about $10/month, has no idle timout (or at least a long one, such as about an hour), unlimited access time (cutoff of about 5 hours is acceptable, however), doesn’t monitor your communications at all (ie won’t interfere at all unless a Federal judge signs an order, and even then will protest it (ideally)).
Sure, it is a bit much, but since DSL and cable aren’t available, and I respect my privacy, I’m hoping you could help me with this. Thank you.

I will be doing some traveling this summer, and want to get a wireless card for my laptop so that I don’t have to pay for the service at hotels or try to find a local dialup number. My laptop is wireless enabled. I don’t know enough about it to shop knowledgebly. I don’t even know the correct terminology.
I guess I am not explaining myself very well. I want one of those things that you put in your laptop and it provides the service. It might work through your cell phone, and you get it through a cellular company.
