PLEASE Help me out ? DOWNLOAD probs.?

See when i have a dialup connection of 52Kbps .when i download something for example 5 MB. but the connection status shows that i have downloaded 8MB or more.See websites size could not be more than 1MB then how can i know what is downloading.See i tried to check .by seeing the internet connection icon in the system tray.it becomes blue when something downloads so closed all browsers and stoped downloading things to see if it was still blue but not at this time .Last night i downloaded hardly about 20MB but it showed that i have downloaded 33MB. HELP ?????????????PLEASE

Is there any steps involved before you install a wireless card in 98se?disabling ports,etc??

My wireless network adapter won’t work on my laptop.I’m running 98SE.HELP PLEASE?
I followed every instruction to the letter for installing my cardbus adapter.
it is a airlink awlc3026t model number.
i disabled all the stupid ports and uninstalled all dialup networking in the windows setup so it won’t interfere with the installation of the adapter.
when i first installed it, it was fine.
then i downloaded internet explorer 6 for 98se.
then i lost the cardbus connection.
so i did a clean install of 98se and tried again.
i have no problem installing the utility and driver.
but when it comes time to connect the network card 98se won’t recognize the driver for it.
i went to the website and got no info at all.
after playing around disabling the ports and such the utility popped up for a brief moment then disapeared.
I HATE COMPUTERS!
Does anybody know anything about 98se?
I know something is preventing the card from being installed properly but what…

laptop HELP NOW PLEASE!!!?

I have 2 laptops one old its Compaq Presario model:1201EA I use dialup connection and same times I use 3com 10l100 LAN pc card but it does not work sometimes… im traveling for emergency “my friends mother has cancer and im going to meet them in Bangkok if they need help” and I want to take it with me instead of the new laptop…. my questions are:
1- How can make it run faster?
2- Why dose the pc card disconnect by itself every 1 or even less than 1 minute?
3- Can I put the laptop in the suitcase instead of carrying it with me?

I might be leaving in 2 or 3 days so I can’t take it for repair,
