Can’t stand the noise and sound of my modem dialing Pls Help!?

I just switched to AOL ISP and i have dialup (i will change to broadband soon) but can someone please if u can tell me how to mute my modem. I can’t stand the noise it makes when i click on connect. When i had Net Zero when i connected or set up i was able to mute my modem at the sign up screen now i don’t know with AOL cause i just turned over on Sat.9/23.

MSN window shows if I try to logon Yahoo Chat asking I get online, can’tdo, no longer on dialup.Explain Pls?

Why does an MSN window appear when I log on to Yahoo Chat? Seems it thinks I’m no online and asks me to supply my old Log On info when i was on DialUp which is impossible to do. I’m no longer on dialup but on cable, so why is Yahoo chat not available to me??
