Should users of Norton 360 file a class action suit to gain damages for the time they’ve lost?

Norton 360 effectively cuts the speed of my computer to that of a dialup, though I have a decent processor and a cable connection. I’ve heard several people complaining about Norton 360 doing the same thing to them. Do you think a lawsuit would stand a chance of winning and possibly send a message to the industry that there is a standard to be observed?
Movie_Foker, what has you convinced that the world isn’t a dumb place and that one more dumb thing wouldn’t simply fit right in?

ISP Speeds?

I cleaned off my old Dell desktop that has a dialup modem. Loaded Windows XP Pro – dialup connection dropped to 26.8. Had the geeks come out to assess and was told that my 486 processor was unable to keep up with the OS.

I purchased a new Dell laptop in January thinking that everything would be configured correctly and my dialup would increase a bit.

NOT!!! What is causing this issue?

Also, I heard that Vista will not work with dial up. Is this accurate? I have the upgrade but have not installed it.

What is the minimum pc requirement to use Instant Messenger Voice?

I discontinued IM with Voice because it made my pc Hangup or freeze up! I only have a Pentium II processor(267Mhz), 128mb memory laptop and my dialup connection speed is only 31.2kbps.

What type of computer should I get?

I would like the specs of what brand, processor, RAM, etc. of the computer I should buy. I’m going to store a large media collection on it and do some light gaming too. I’m also going to be on the internet through dialup. 10 points for best answer.
oh yeah – I would like it to be Windows Vista capable and less than $600 US
