Can I fix my slow internet connection?

Can I fix this problem? I have a rebuilt Intel (R) Celeron (R) CPU at 3.20GHz with 1.96GB of RAM. My internet connection is not dial up but goes through the phone line to a cable underground outside and is extremely slow. With videos or music I get a slow skip that makes it impossible to view or listen to anything. The guy who re-built it said it should run very fast. My OS is Windows XP and I have Norton Antivirus using AT&T service. Any advice appreciated. Can I fix this problem? Thanks so much! :)

How can I improve my internet connection speed?

I am running windows 98 with 64 RAM (73% free). I have Rockwell 56K modem. Registry Mechanic says I have no problems. Spybot says I have no malware. I also defragmented my hard drive. My speed is so slow that most online music repeatedly buffers.

slow dialup 56k modem connection, 44,000 was 115,000 how can I get it faster?

i hooked up a new computer. still using dialup. i know its slow but all i have. old comp had a connection at 115,000 kps and the new dul core amd 4200 with 2 gig ram and windows xp will only connect at 44,000. is there anything i can do to improve the speed without taking it to a shop?

Need help…Added ram, computer is almost not working, what happened?

Basically, I gave it to my dad to give to my uncle. My dad dropped it in a mud puddle. They dried it off, aired it out, then installed it. Now, the second hard drive isnt registering, its running in safe mode, its only registering 128mb ram, the DSL is running at slower then dialup speeds, no help or error logs are working, took forever to load anything, the drives show nothing but a couple things on there, (Basically his business and all the documents are gone.) So, what does he do? Is it the ram because it got wet and hurt things? Or, is something they did when they put the ram in?

im a graphic editor.so i have Nvidia Geforce 6500,processor is intel p4 multiprocessor with HTT.3.00GHZ ,RAM IS 1GB.+200GB sata hdd .I work wit adobe photoshop 7 .bluetooth,infrared and scanner is attached .cd rom and a dvd rw.dialup modem and a lancard.onboard chip sata ide controller.now tell me plz why it has become something like p3 after one month use.
