I have dial-up, but want wireless?

Hi. I have dial-up service, because companies are too cheap to allow a cable to run down my road. A Verzion worker recently told my father that we could get a wireless card for the internet. Is that true?? We have a desktop and a couple laptops and desperately want a faster internet speed other than slow 31.2 kbps. So my question…can we get a wireless card to get wireless service??

Is broadband the only type of interntet that works to be able to play Halo 3 Online?

My buddy has to come to my house to be able to play online (i don’t have an x-box) because he doesn’t have internet at all, and I have road runner, but he thinks is to expensive. So he wants to know if other types of internet work. I mean, i’m pretty sure dial up won’t work but i don’t really know if there are other types of internet or if they would work. His goal to not pay as much as i do for fast speed internet service.

Is there dialup access to sbc global while on the road with an older laptop?

Cable Internet at dialup speeds???

I have road runner, cable internet. I have a desktop computer and a laptop computer and a wireless router. For some reason, the other day, the Internet speed on the desktop dramatically decreased! I tried to download a 10MB test file and I was only getting about 6Kbps, while on the laptop I am getting 500Kbps on the same file, if not more. Both computers are connected to the wireless router, however the desktop is a wired connection. Everything has worked fine in the past, and this happened just at once. Any ideas?! I’ve ran spyware doctor and tcp optimizer with no results.

Open-source software to enable Yahoo!/Gmail access on PDA?

I can use my mobile phone for email, of course, but it’s a limited screen, and I *don’t* want a “smart” phone, I think a phone should be a phone and a PDA should be a PDA (separate items!) So I have an HP 2215 (larger screen than phone). I use it, on the road, dialup. But when I try to get to Yahoo! email (or also gmail email) I get “page not found” (I guess the 2215 can’t handle the gui…). The 2215 can handle all sorts of other websites. Does anyone know of any open-source or other free software (or, just simply, a secret url) I can use to get to my emails while on the road, with my HP 2215?
