If a file is 60 Megabytes in size (which takes over 3 hours to download on a Dialup connection) So I wanted to know, if the same 60 megabyte file was compressed and zipped, how much faster would it download on dialup? Would it be like twice as fast downloading for example or how much?
actually I think it takes about 6 hours on dialup

I am using 56k dialup connection. But when I connect to the net it gives me only 28 kbps. How can I boost up my dialup speed? I have tried to download “Robust FREE Internet Speed Booster” for boost up spedd. But the size of this file is greater than 3 and I am unable to download this file because of its huge size (As u know the current speed is only 28 kbps). So please tell me a ‘SMALLEST FILE” OR “ANY OTHER SOLUTION” that I can load / do easily.

I have a really good digital camera so I’ve taken a bunch of high resolution pictures that are six megabytes each. I want to drastically reduce the resolution so they’re less than a hundred kilobytes each. That way I can email them to people who still have dialup internet accss. I don’t want to manually do each picture at a time. I want to batch convert a whole bunch of files without babysitting the program. I have a fast computer and plenty of hard drive space so resources are no problem for me. It would be nice if it was freeware or shareware. Please tell me what software you like and post to link to where I can read about it. A download link (legal of course) would be nice too.
