yahoo account froze when ry to Set up my webcam dialup or invite someone Camera Settings option is not activ?
Hi Everybody – quite new to this…..
I have yahoo messenger for Mac and I’m thinking of getting a webcam for it……
I am only on dialup connection and can’t see myself going to broadband in the near future….
Will the webcam just have a slower frame rate with dialup?
– meaning will the people i see appear slower to me and does it only effect the transmission at my end? – will they see me as per normal for the connection they have?
I’m not too concerned about sound (at this stage)….
any advice or comments would be appreciated….
Thanks
Thanks everyone – I’m in New Zealand…
I have viewed peoples cams before and it was fairly slow but not incrediably annoying (although I guess I have nothing to compare to)
I can always get the cam now and then a faster connection down the track
Thanks again
My webcam worked with dailup and now with DSL, it does not. Why? I have done tons of stuff to fix it, but nothing. Made changes to the firewall and added stuff. Put Yahoo Webcam in the advance tab area, with IP 127.0.0.1 under both external & internal port put 5100. Is there anything else that might work.
My webcam is working, I can bring it up on my screen, I have also uninstalled and re-installed the webcam.
DSL service is not available in my area, but I would like to use a webcam to communicate with relatives that live far away. I know it would probably be crawling along with regular dial-up Internet, but how would it perform with accelerated dialup? Or should I not bother and wait until DSL is available (whenever that is!)?
Have a Logitech webcam, can’t get built in mic to work with yahoo messenger. No other sound problems. Is it my dial-up connection?
